A non-stock, non-profit organization with a proven track record in policy advocacy, environmental research and coalition-building is looking for interested candidates to fill the position of:

Policy Advocacy Specialist

Job Description:

• Gathers data relevant to and conducts policy analysis on the different environmental issues in the country.
• Develops and writes position papers, briefers, bills, ordinances, issuances
• Provides inputs, orientations, trainings to local communities and other groups on the advocacy issues
• Networks with like-minded NGOs, civic groups, academic institutions, government agencies and individual allies in pushing for advocacy agenda
• Attends local legislative, executive meetings, hearings, consultations, briefings as scheduled
• Advocates and lobbies for specific policy issuances from both executive and legislative bodies
• Acts as resource person for executive and legislative meetings, advocacy for media interviews

Qualifications:

• Degree in Environment Science, Sociology or other social sciences
• At least 2 years prior experience in an NGO doing environmental policy advocacy or related work
• Has excellent writing skills
• Knowledgeable in the use of PowerPoint, Word and PageMaker
• Willing to travel
